Our Story
Mid Island Psychology Associates was created with the core values that mental health support should be personalized for each person to tackle their particular issues, recognizing that no two individuals are identical. We are dedicated to implementing a thorough and multifaceted method in therapy. The experts at Mid Island Psychology Associates provide empathy and zeal in their work with patients, incorporating fresh techniques. All our therapists have been educated in the Cognitive Behavioral therapy approach, with several receiving in-depth preparation in methods like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP), and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT).
Assessing Treatment Intensity
At Mid Island Psychology Associates, we adopt a detailed strategy for care, ensuring that every plan is adapted to the client's exact requirements. For certain people, their emotional difficulties might be heavily affecting multiple areas of life, necessitating a more thorough intervention. Clients at Mid Island Psychology Associates can receive up to 20 hours of sessions per week if needed, with the aim of scaling back as symptoms improve. Generally, those in this intensive program are treated for a minimum of 1-2 months prior to any reduction. Other clients may thrive with sessions held weekly or every other week. All care suggestions will be reviewed at the conclusion of the initial meeting. After treatment ends, we provide follow-up appointments to refine results. We also deliver home-based sessions for individuals whose situations prevent office visits, or whose behaviors mainly occur at home, and online options are offered.
