Stop the Spiral
Drink water. Eat something small. Get to a safe environment. Stabilize your body first.
Reduce Harm
Don’t use alone. Avoid mixing alcohol + opioids/benzos. Keep yourself alive first.
Restart Today
One honest message to a safe person can change the entire outcome of today.
What To Do Right Now (Next 60 Minutes)
- Move yourself to a safer place (away from dealers/using environments)
- Hydrate + eat something simple
- Shower or wash your face (seriously — nervous system reset)
- Delete/avoid relapse contacts for 24 hours
- Text someone: “I slipped. I need support. Can you check in later?”
Relapse Warning Pattern (Most People Miss This)
Relapse rarely starts with substance use. It starts earlier:
- Isolation
- Not sleeping / eating
- Stress + resentment
- Romanticizing using
- “I don’t care anymore” thinking
Make a Relapse Repair Plan (10 minutes)
- Trigger: What happened right before relapse?
- Emotion: What were you trying to escape?
- Fix: What support/tool would have helped?
- Prevention: What boundary must change?
